Rimless tanks and low-iron glass

Rimless aquariums are no longer a specialist look. Reef systems and planted tanks are both being sold as a pane of glass, a cabinet, and filtration that stays out of the photograph. Low-iron glass is part of that. It drops the green edge that standard glass shows on a deep tank.

The practical side is less glamorous. Rimless tanks need a level cabinet, a mat under the glass, and a sump or canister that can actually keep up. A clear view of a dirty tank is still a dirty tank. Buy the filtration with the aquarium, not six months later.
